Hans-Joachim Roedelius – Geradewohl

German electronic music pioneer Hans-Joachim Roedelius has an interesting history. Born in 1934 he was an unwilling member of the Hitler Youth (membership was compulsory for boys over ten) and was a child actor in Nazi propaganda films. After the war, finding himself trapped on the eastern side of the Berlin Wall, he was imprisoned for two years following an unsuccessful attempt to cross to the west. Eventually, he managed to escape into West Berlin and formed the Zodiak Free Arts Lab with Conrad Schnirtzler.

They also put out new music too it would appear…

Distress – A Compilation in Aid of Bushfire Relief

https://distressfundraiser.bandcamp.com/releases

For those of us living overseas, it’s painful to witness the footage of people and wildlife currently affected by the huge bushfires raging across Australia. It can also be tricky to know how to help, or who to donate funds too in these kind of situations. In this case, some awesome musicians from Melbourne have rallied round the world’s electronic music community to donate tracks for a fun-raising compilation, with all proceeds going to Wildlife Victoria.
